This non-Christian charity has forgotten something

Coauthor Jerry Newcombe remembers seeing a bulletin-board announcement seeking volunteers to operate a hotline with the name “Samaritan.” The announcement stated the organization wanted only people who were not religious to apply.

The irony is that not only does that idea deny the fact that such goodwill projects were motivated by Christianity in the first place, but the very name “Samaritan” comes from Christ’s parable of the “good Samaritan.”
