The international standard ISO 8601 sets Saturday as the sixth day of the week. The three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) regard Saturday as the seventh day of the week. As a result, many refused the ISO 8601 standards and continue to use Saturday as their seventh day.
My two cents
I like it when Abrahamic religious concepts precede (or rather define) modern-day international standards.
I’m reminded of the ridiculous revisions to the working week that were tried in the Soviet Union (in the 20th century) as well as France (during the French Revolution). As far as I can tell, these were proven to be failures and the Abrahamic mindset was reinstated.
I suppose this would be a victory for Seventh-Day Adventists as well.
