BCE and CE still can’t escape Jesus

Critics say the new terms [CE and BCE] are meaningless because, just like AD and BC, they still denote years in relation to the life of Christ.

My two cents

I also believe that the CE/BCE technique is a cop-out. If it were that bad, then it would have reached a groundswell much earlier; that’s one way of knowing that it’s a relativistic argument, and relativistic arguments don’t hold much sway. I thought AD (Anno Domini) meant year of the Lord—not their Lord.
