Democracy is a pagan Greek concept, not a Christian one. Its revival was a product of humanist enlightenment thinking, not Christian theology. Enlightenment thinking was a reaction against the Church, not a product of it! Surely the natural system for Christianity must be “theocracy” (mean rule of God) not “democracy” (which is the rule of people.)
My two cents
Jeremiah tells us not to learn the way of the heathen…but we don’t listen. I think I like theocracy and because of that I think it alienates me from others. I’ve heard of that anti-theocracy site called TheocracyWatch, and in response I sometimes feel like starting a site called TheocracyWatchWatch.
I’ve also heard politicians say that democracy is the worst system of government, except for all the others that have been tried. That’s no surprise coming from a democratically elected politician.
